Music, whether simple or complex, is a language that transcends many barriers. The mathematical concepts of music have always interested me. Can a song be written by exploring the most popular combinations of words, melodies and chords? Or is there an element which can't be named that provides the final touch to make a song?
As for artists and bands, do the same rules apply? Given enough resource (money, equipment, lessons, etc.) why is it that only some can make it work?
Love is the answer to all the above. If you love to write or play music, that will show through your product. It is never easy, but persistence will always win out.
